Videos for the GEO ministerial summit in Cape Town (South Africa)

In November 2007, the Plenary session of GEO will be held in Cape Town (South Africa). It will be followed by the Ministerial Summit. GEO (Group on Earth Observation) was initiated by the G8. It gathers approximately 70 nations (including the European Commission).

During these two meetings the progress of the GEO community will be demonstrated. Major progress was achieved by the Energy Community of Practice (CoP) within the Societal Benefit Area Energy in relation with the International Energy Agency (SHC Task 36) . A video was realized that demonstrates the early achievement called "Solar Radiation for Developing Countries" allowing access to relevant solar irradiation data worldwide. It shows the links between this activity and GEOSS, and enhances its benefits through test-cases.

Two versions of this video were prepared: a short one that will be used for the video exhibit during the Ministerial meeting and a long one that will be displayed on the exhibition stands.
